I have been taking photographs since the mid 1980s, when I started taking pictures and writing for my local paper while in high school. It was fun covering the various sports for my classmates but I spent a lot of time in the darkroom developing the Tri-X (and eventually the TMax) before spending even more time with the enlarger printing the pictures. While in college at Wichita State University, I worked for the school paper, known as the "Sunflower," and was able to cover all of the sports, as well as a few Miss USA pageants, with my Nikon F4 and 300mm f2.8 lens. My favorites were volleyball and basketball because there was always action, although taking pictures of a national champion baseball team was pretty nice too. :) Since college, I have continued to photograph for local papers wherever that I have lived. With the digital revolution, however, I can take as many pictures as I want as long as they can all fit on my memory card and my computer.
